I chose Amazon because it is one of the world’s largest e-commerce and Technology Company that uses big data in various ways to improve its operations and deliver better products and services. For instance in personalized recommendations, Amazon uses big data to analyze customer browsing and purchase history to provide personalized product recommendations to such individual users. On pricing strategies, Amazon uses big data to adjust its prices for various products based on competition, customer behaviour and demand making it possible to remain competitive and maximize revenue. Last but not least, Amazon optimize supply chain using the collected big data using data on inventory levels, order history and transportation logistics to manage its supply chain efficiently, reduce delivery times and minimize costs. Data mining also helps Amazon detect fraud as it employs data mining techniques to detect and prevent fraudulent activities throughout its operations. In regard to inventory management, data mining helps Amazon optimize inventory levels for its fulfilment centers.
