Abstract
Asthma and the Baker [Name] As indicated earlier, D.Ks condition exposed her to inhaled steroid-long-acting bronchodilator (ICS-LABA) for daily use and short-acting bronchodilator (SABA) as needed up to 4 times a day. However, due to continued exposure to flour, sugar, and bran which her system proves allergic to, D.Ks asthma can be classified as moderate persistent. To control chances of advancing her current condition to severe persistent, D.K must recognize her allergic triggers (bran), take steps to avoid the triggers (might decide to quit the bakery work), and track her breathing to ensure medications are controlling the symptoms. Other than avoiding the triggers, long-term asthma control medication like inhaled corticosteroid proves the best for D.Ks condition since her condition is moderate persistent thus requires a medication that can be used for several days to weeks to control her condition. Fortunately, unlike oral corticosteroids, inhaled corticosteroids have a relatively lower risk of severe side effects on the user. D.K will also use a quick-relief inhaler for instant ease of symptoms if she notices asthma flare-ups but record the number of puffs used each week to enable her doctor to adjust her long-term control medication. Suppose D.K decides to keep her bakery work. In that case, she should use allergy medications like allergy shots (immunotherapy) or biologics to control her allergy triggers and work comfortably in an allergic environment (Demoly et al., 2017). However, the doctor will ask for her signs and symptoms and adjust her medication accordingly upon each visit. An asthma action plan outlining in writing when to take particular medication (when to increase or decrease the dose) will also be provided based on D.Ks noted signs and symptoms upon each visit. A healthy weight that comes with feeding on a balanced diet and engaging in...
