It includes the physical location which can be a home office, an office building, or a factory (Salin, 2021). Additionally, the workplace overview describes the culture of the workplace and its effects on how employees in a company are expected to accomplish various tasks. Employers can improve the experiences and productivity of their employees by addressing the issues in their workplace overview. On the other hand, the functional areas of an organization are the groups in which employees perform their responsibilities towards meeting the overall goals of an organization. They divide the staff into groups each tasked with specific responsibilities in the organization. The functional areas in my organization include sales and marketing whose responsibility is to interact with consumers and potential buyers and promote the company’s services. Additionally, there is a finance department that keeps record of the organization’s income, expenditure, and future prospects. The human resource department is in charge of the staffing the company with capable, trained, and experienced employees to meet the consumers’ needs. The daily activities at Lending Tree Bowl, particularly during games, are handled by the operations area that manages key activities responsible in delivering services to consumers (Pouwelse, Mulder, & Mikkelsen, 2021). The company has an area dedicated to the procurement and maintenance of equipment and technology to ensure the firm remains competitive in the market. I am in the sales and marketing functional area that has the most significant interaction with the potential and current consumers in the organization. With the growing use of social media, this functional area has invested in monitoring the organization’s performance in this area. Marketing produces internal and external communication regarding brand promotion and performance in the organization. The department conducts campaigns on behalf of the organization to promote the services offered to the customers. Job Description A job description is the document provided to potential employees in an organization indicating the duties and responsibilities associated with the position they seek in the firm. It provides the applicants with the knowledge of the general activities they are expected to conduct if employed in the firm (Chongwony, Gardner, & Tope, 2020). While the day to day tasks may differ, the job description indicates the overall duties that en employee may expect to conduct while working in the company. As a marketing intern, my job description includes the list of responsibilities an employee may have concerning the promotion of the firm’s brand. My duties are associated with working hand in hand with the marketing manager to promote the company’s brand and the profits. Specifically, the job description includes organizing presentations to the guests visiting the organization and planning to spend time in the facility. Additionally, this includes assisting the marketing department with promotional activities both through direct interaction with guests and over online media (Chongwony, Gardner, & Tope, 2020). Marketing interns collect and analyze questionnaires from customers and employees to determine the performance of new services in the organization. Moreover, they make recommendations to the company through marketing managers on the measures that could be employed by the organization to increase profitability. In my organization, my responsibilities include promotion activities for the company’s services. In particular, I have been introduced to the use of social media in marketing and targeting new customers for the company.
