Introduction
Ponte Costa et al. (2016) investigated the issue of safety in prenatal primary health care through the analysis of scientific publications on the subject. The unique needs and expectations of patients receiving prenatal care require nurses to provide services with care. Mothers undergo emotional changes associated with the outcome of their prenatal care and that of their newborns. The responsibility of nurses working with these patients includes the provision of care to meet the psychosocial experiences of the mothers (Ponte Costa et al., 2016).
