Introduction
In this ethnographic interview, I was able to expand my knowledge about other cultures other than mine. From my observation, I have had contacted other people from different cultures, but I never had the opportunity to go deeper into the other person's culture. The interviewee was Prince Madu, a male gender who was born and raised in Nigeria. Prince is 23 years old. He identified himself as Heterosexual. Moved to the United States three years ago from now. He believed that moving to the U.S has changed some aspects of his Nigerian culture, but his family has worked hard to keep those traditions alive, no matter where they are. The interview was conducted in a library near my house because we thought it was the perfect place to concentrate and stay focused. This paper will discuss how Prince's culture view nature's human existence, how his cultural traditions and values have affected him personally, if he is comfortable with the traditions or if he would like to change something from them, also, how his culture and a social worker who is not from his culture would interact.
Interview
Prince's family and himself identify themselves as Igbo culture located predominantly in the southeastern part of Nigeria. Princes describe that the Igbo culture is one of the prominent cultures of his country, Nigeria. They have three primary tribes/ cultures amongst 371, which are Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa. The culture identified in his country varies based on languages, ethics, lifestyles, orientation, food, and different life approaches. When thinking of normal life transitions, Prince'sPrince's culture can be different and similar to other cultures. When it comes to illness, Price stated that he comes from a place where they do not depend entirely on doctors but more on traditional medicine (herbal), except for critical cases like surgery and other complex illnesses.
