Abstract

Teamwork Teamwork is a fundamental and essential part of any business. Patrick Lencioni is an authentic man who provides a leadership fable that entails five dysfunctions of a team. They include; Absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability, and inattention to results. These five dysfunctions are an essential definitive guideline for a successful team. Trust is a skill that is developed over some time. It gives teammates a sense of confidence in each other, making them vulnerable to each other. Trust means that teammates can seek help, share their weaknesses, and show their skill deficiency, mistakes, and interpersonal shortcomings. Fear of conflict can either be ideological or personality-based. Commitment encompasses two facts; lack of consensus and certainty. Great teams believe that a decision is better than no decision. The concept of certainty derails a team from making decisions quickly with a belief in waiting for more information. Consensus refutes the ideology of buying everyone’s opinion to appease them. Everyone’s opinion must be considered and heard, but the ultimate decision must be made. Accountability calls for the cancellation or correction of team members when in the wrong, even though it means hurting them. Inattention to results alludes to team members caring about something other than results. The five dysfunctions are evident in most teams in our society, and we cannot ignore that it’s affecting them negatively or positively. Based on my opinion, I believe that the five dysfunctions of a team Lencioni are indeed obstacles when trying to revive a successful business. Dealing with a group itself is the greatest obstacle. The success of a team depends on their personalities and leadership style. Teamwork is extremely hard to achieve; it requires courage and discipline that most people do not possess. Bomar is a small group gone wrong. It is a lobby group team formed by eight university graduates to perform community services such as helping the needy, cleaning the environment, and creating awareness of the importance of giving back to the community. The group's goal was to maintain a clean and healthy environment and eradicate poverty in society. The group was formed on excitement, peer pressure, and the desire to have work done in the community. A team of eight was challenging to manage, and they had a team leader named Rose. The leader was chosen based on her beauty, authenticity, and her wealthy background. It was a girl's team only, and gender was a factor of consideration during the selection...
