The Alamo battle occurred during the war of independence in Texas for thirteen days. The Alamo Battle remains a symbol of endurance because of the oppression during the struggle, making them win the following year. Before the war in December 1835, Texan volunteer soldiers led by Benjamin Milam and George Collinsworth occupied the Alamo [which was formerly a mission found close to San Antonia (Otfinoski, 2019a). The soldiers captured the fort during their mission to control it. Colonel James Bowie and Lieutenant Colonel William B. Travis took over the command of San Antonio's Texan forces in the middle of February of the year 1836.
