Whether you have an Android operating system or if your mobile uses iOS, manufacturers release updates to these systems to improve performance, cover security holes, device efficiency or repair possible errors or deficient functionalities. Any manufacturer recommends its users to update the software without doubts and as immediately as possible. At this point, both Apple and the rest of the manufacturers agree. In my case I usually update my phone`s operating system immediately I am notified to do so and this helps to patch security gaps and improve the overall performance of the device. In some cases I may delay updating the phone system if I feel that the updates may affect some apps or data stored by these apps.  Is true that the change may have some disadvantages, but generally, the updates are focused on increasing the security of your device, so they are more than recommended. Depending on the type of operating system used in phones, different versions and operating system updates at different times. For example, android phones will get monthly updates and security patch.
