Journal Week 5

Career choices affect the capacity of people to have happy and fulfilling lives. Determining where one’s skills and their happiness intersect allows them to make the appropriate career choices that are rewarding and fulfilling. In chapter 11 of their book, Farris & Welch (2015) demonstrate the significance of what one is good at and what they love doing in determining their area of destiny. Throughout my education and pervious career experiences, I find that I am good at leading others to achieve group goals. I have been tasked with leadership responsibilities from when I was young and I find that I am able to develop and promote team objectives. Other people have identified my ability to lead others and tasked me to take the role of team leader when we are working towards a particular goal. My peers in school have often relied on my direction when completing simple or complex projects since they have identified my skills in leadership. Learning that I am good in leading others will have significant implications on defining my career path in in future.
