The Great Melting Pot 2

“The Great Melting Pot” video explores the complex and often contentious dynamics of racial differences between African Americans and the White Americans. Based on the video, it is open that societal change particularly in terms of racial harmony is a form of revolution that is unfolding in the present. It is a theme that underscores the ongoing struggles and conversations about race in the contemporary society. As the Video starts, one can see a very happy African American mother whose optimism in a changed ideology about the previously embraced stereotypes that defined African Americans remains well defined. She is all ready to host her friends for dinner whom she believes will make her children understand that American have embraced diversification as an aspect that defines its nations populace. She cites that “change is revolution and we are experiencing that right now” (02:00). Her daughter doesn’t seem moved by her Mum’s statement because her thoughts of the expected visitor are contrary to her Mums. However, as a way of emphasizing on her point, the Black mom adds that as at current they were living in a society that care who you are and where you are from as the son gets home from school.
