Apartment ans search warrants 23rd 11 21.edited
The search warrants enhance crime controls in an excellent manner (Samaha, 222). The power to search allows searches to invade the privacy of individuals, their homes, their private papers and their property. In our case scenario, it is clear that with a search warrant, the search remained fully protected by the Fourth Amendment as the investigator did not use illegal methods to get the evidence. In the current case, the officer applied and secured a search warrant for the entirety of the apartment. Such a warrant implies that the officer has the right to search all rooms within John’s apartment, including David's room within the same apartment. Ignorance of law has no defense. Arguing from the secured search warrant point of view, it is clear that any physical evidence relating to illegal drugs, whether found in Johns or David's room, can remain used as potential evidence against John or David.
